Maybe they'd go to a fancy restaurant, see a movie, or take in a show. Whatever they did, the goal was to spend time together, to connect and enjoy each other's company.
Over the years, "date night" has evolved and changed with the times. But the core idea remains the same: to set aside a night each week, or each month, to focus on each other and the love that brought them together.
So, the next time you and your sweetheart are making plans for "date night," take a moment to reflect on the rich history and tradition behind it. And have yourself a good time, folks. You've earned it.
