Local art behind-the-scenes

Visitors at the Rivers Edge. This actually happened this Spring on the Root River three miles downstream of Lanesborro, MN. It was a cool morning as I sat on the deck with a cup of coffee in hand. The sun was slowly rising above the bluff and as it did the warmth created a foggy presence along the water and throughout the valley. The Red Wind Blackbirds were chattering along the banks of the river as the babbling river added to the calming noise. Suddenly Mom and the new fawn appeared at the river’s edge. They both took a drink of water and slowly disappeared into the underbrush. Within an instant the scene was over and I thought to myself that if I would have stayed in bed two minutes longer I would have missed the best part of my cup of coffee.
