So here we are, in the most lively town of Hastings. You know, some people think small towns are boring, but let me tell you something. They are full of surprises, an infinite number of surprises.

We start at the Ripe Radish Farm, where one's status on TV isn't worth a dime compared to the pleasure of picking up manure. Sounds strange, right? But hey, it's all about loving chickens and going organic. You might find it all too earthy, but we dig it. Literally, we dig it. It's farm life at its finest.

Next up, we drop by Pub 55. The joint where everyone's appreciated, and a good time is mandatory. They're throwing a shindig on the 29th, and rumour has it Chad and Larry will be in the dunk tank. It's all heart, cold beer, and heated competition. You gotta love it.

Then, of course, we've got Allina Health United Hospital - Hastings Regina Campus, taking care of your little athletes, making sure they're fit and ready for the sports season. These folks are like the unsung heroes of this town.

And speaking of heroes, the City of Hastings Government is looking for volunteers to help out the Hastings Police Department. And no, you don't have to look like Schwarzenegger or have the moves of Jackie Chan. It's all about serving the community and being a part of something bigger than yourself.

We move on to the creative hub, Hastings Community Education, where the craftiness runs deep, and your children's imagination is their only limitation. They're putting on a camp, a mish-mash of crafts from dot painting to food crafts.

It's Wednesday, and you can smell the BBQ wafting from Calvary Hastings Church. Bring your own and something to share, because it's all about community, camaraderie, and calories. Then Saturday, rise and shine for the Men's Breakfast at 7am.

If you're an art enthusiast, Red Wing Framing & Fine Art Printing has something for you. A small corner that holds an original watercolor piece, free for you to appreciate and admire. It's like an art version of a treasure hunt, minus the pirates.

We can't forget St. Philip's Faith Formation and their Food Truck Party vacation Bible school, an absolute riot of fun, faith, and food. Who knew Bible stories and games could coexist?

Downtown Tire & Auto are the fixers of the town, always ready to give your vehicle a health check. They're the knights in shining armour when it comes to your car.

Lastly, let's drift down the river with Walleye Affliction. This is where the summer sizzle meets the cool of the river. Where the thrill of fishing meets the tranquility of nature. It's not about the catch, it's about the chase. And the chase is beautiful.

So there you have it, Hastings in a nutshell. An eclectic mix of farming, pub-crawling, health-conscious, volunteer-loving, crafty, spiritual, arty, motorhead, fish-obsessed folks. As different as they may seem, there's one thing that unites us all – a love for this small but spirited town. Hastings may not be on the top of the world, but it's definitely on top of our hearts. Hastings, the town where surprises never cease, and life never gets dull.
