HFC United: More Than a Club, It’s a Community Legacy in Hastings
The love of soccer runs deep in Hastings! Today, we're talking about a community gem, HFC United, and the profound impact they've had on our local youth, not only in Hastings but in surrounding areas too. Let's dive right into it.
A Mission of Unity and Development
From players and coaches to referees and parents, HFC United's mission is to develop each member to their fullest potential. This non-profit corporation is committed to quality soccer programming, and their focus isn't just on the game but on the community as a whole. That's Minnesota nice for you!
The Roots of HFC United: A Journey to Remember
Now, this isn't just any soccer club, no sir! The story behind HFC United is unique and fascinating. Born out of the Hastings Youth Athletic Association (HYAA), the soccer program blossomed into its own entity, thanks to the dedicated efforts of community members like Ceil Strauss and Dan Marier. These folks put their hearts into making soccer more than just a game in Hastings.
The beginnings of HFC United were funded by community-driven initiatives, and the club was officially filed as a non-profit corporation back in '07. With persistence, passion, and a genuine love for the sport, HFC United became a member club of MYSA, beginning their journey in the Fall of 2009.
The Heart of HFC United: By the Numbers
Now, let's talk turkey about what makes this club so special:
575 youth recreational academy players!
347 competitive soccer players for both Fall & Summer seasons!
Financial assistance for all who request, because no child should be left on the sidelines!
Serving communities far and wide, like Afton, Red Wing, and St. Paul Park.
Employment for over 40 youths and adults, and even scholarships for graduating Hastings High School club members!
You bet, this club is about more than just kicks and goals; it's about community, growth, and opportunities.
