Hey folks, tuning in from the exciting town of Hastings, Minnesota and nearby cities, where apparently, fish consumption guidance and flower farming sit comfortably on the same list. Yeah, it's as peculiar as it sounds, but hey, it's Hastings! So let's dive into this top ten list, and believe me, it's more gripping than a bobsled ride through the mountains.

Now, we kick things off with the City of Hastings Government. Seems like our friendly state of Minnesota has updated its guidelines for... wait for it... fish consumption! Specifically from the Mississippi River and Lake Rebecca in Hastings. Let's not get fishy, especially if you are kids, pregnant, or breastfeeding. Always remember, we have a guidebook for everything these days, even eating fish! Check out the Department of Health’s Fish Consumption Guidance if you want more on this intriguing topic.

Then we have Whimsical Fields. Nothing says "adventure" like a family-owned flower farm. They had a vision, dealt with bugs, and now they're creating beautiful bouquets. You know what they say, “One person's bug challenge is another's bouquet of opportunity.” Stay tuned as they hope to offer U-pick opportunities and mini photo shoots. I mean, who doesn't love a good 'pick-your-own-flowers' day?

Up next, it's Rivertown Yogi offering Rooftop Yoga. It's happening at Spiral Brewery, downtown Hastings, August 19th, 10:30am. Register early, because who wouldn't want to do a downward dog whilst looking at the skyline?

Rolling down to number four, Princess Paula Consulting is having a launch party in neighboring Eagan. Networking, mocktails, and tasty bites... sounds like the adult version of a high school party. Get your small talk ready, people!

Onto Keepsake Cidery in Dundas. They've taken a page out of grandma's kitchen and bottled up some smooth, rich Ice Cider. This 2021 vintage tastes like pecan and brown sugar, and somehow they've managed to add "wild yeast" and "no additives" into the same sentence. Now that's a tongue twister!

Wrestling anyone? Hastings High School Wrestling has an ALL-GIRLS WRESTLING CLINIC! Who said girls can't have fun with a bit of wrestling? MSHSL approves, and we got the first Girls Varsity Letter winner in Hastings history showing you how it's done!

Spiral Food Co-op has something up their sleeve. Gift cards! If you have an old one, use it before 2024 because guess what? These new ones are here to stay. They are great gifts, but they also teach us that nothing lasts forever.

Nearby Wet Paint is taking us on a Japanese ride with Momigami. You knead paper with paste and sew it like fabric. Who knew you could knead paper? Or sew it? Now, that's some crafty business!

Hastings Community Education is preparing for fall, the season not the action, and they have a few spots left in their preschool program. Got a kid? Get 'em enrolled. Don't have a kid? Well, maybe just enjoy the changing leaves.

And finally, the Hastings Hawks Amateur Baseball team. These boys are all set for the 5C tournament. Nothing says "small town charm" like a good old baseball game, so let's cheer on!

Well, that's all folks! Reminding you that whether it's avoiding certain fish or cheering on your local baseball team, there's never a dull moment in Hastings. So, whether you're here for the Ice Cider or the wrestling, we hope to see you around soon. Until next time, keep it real and keep it Hastings!
