Greetings, Hastings! Fasten your seatbelts as we breeze through the LOCAL 10, the town's highlight reel!

Over at Hastings Public Schools, the folks at Pinecrest had a blast at their Read-a-thon assembly. The highlight? Mr. Addyman and Principal Bakker were subjected to a classic pie-in-the-face ordeal. And guess what, 4th grade teachers weren't spared either! All this tomfoolery for a great cause, with over $13,000 raised for our PTA. Talk about sweet returns from sweet pies!🥧

Moving on, our friends at Krehbiel Natural Health have a reassuring message for you. Only 5-10% of all cancers are gene-related. The rest? They can be tackled with a healthy diet, lifestyle, and environment. And guess who's living proof? They are! Now, that's what I call turning lemons into lemonade!

At Cannon River Winery, they're rolling out the red carpet for the Kentucky Derby and the Coronation. Live music, Wine Club Parties, and a certain Todd Michael Jameson... sounds like a grape time!

Now, let's slide into home base with Hastings Raiders Baseball. JV swept Tartan off their feet with an 11-0 / 2-1 win. Gillespie & Anderson were spitting fire on the mound, while Sergot & Rausch were laser-focused! 🏴‍☠️

Stuck on Mother's Day gifts? Legacy Cheese to the rescue! They can ship their gourmet goodies right to your door. Or better yet, snag a gift card and let mom choose. Sounds gouda to me!

Hats off to the participants of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School's annual geography bee! Will H, our reigning champion, we're just as proud as you are globetrotting! 🌎🥇

A very Happy Centennial Birthday to Cora from Hastings Senior Health & Living. 100 and fabulous!

City of Hastings gives a heads up! Pleasant Drive will be getting a makeover, with a closure planned from May 2nd through October 2023. Check the project webpage for all the deets on the new digs.

First Presbyterian Hastings is hosting a Garage Sale Bonanza that could make a Walmart jealous! It's got everything from electronics to Christmas Village sets. Don't forget to grab a hotdog and baked goods while you're there!

And finally, say hello to Dakota County’s newest residents: the bison at Spring Lake Park Reserve. They're having a housewarming party from May 26 through June 7, and you're invited!

And that's your whirlwind tour of the LOCAL 10, Hastings! Don't forget to hit up HastingsNow.com for all your local needs.
